Genuine Japanese Mortice Chisels & Bits - Imperial Sizes
The auger bit on this type has a point with one cutting spur and a single spiral for efficient chip clearance. The single spur is easy to sharpen and the bits cut evenly and fast, even in the hardwoods. The heat treated chisel body itself is hardened and precision finished by hand with a sharper cutting angle than the English pattern for reduced effort.
These mortise chisels are manufactured to the highest standards from the best quality steel in Japan. We have found they out perform all others we have tested.
N.B. The augers are supplied over length to accommodate different machines and may need cutting with a hacksaw to suit your particular machine.
