Sigma Impact - High-productivity Panel Sizing Centres.
FROM SCM HIGH-TECH SOLUTIONS FOR A WIDE RANGE OF COMPANIES
SIGMA IMPACT PANEL SAWS
Cutting quality and a high degree of flexibility are guaranteed by a construction including:
- a new system which automatically reads the dimensions of the pack to be cut, and consequently optimises the blade upstroke;
- fast, precise axis movements.
By purchasing SIGMA IMPACT panel saws, a company makes itself ready for the future growth of its workshop. These machines are set up for integration in a Netline cell. Netline is an SCM system which, by integrating several machines guided by a software, allows easy production of complete items of furniture. The software translates the design into instructions for the individual machines in the cell, without the need for them to be manually programmed for workpiece machining.
An example of the development of the range is the SIGMA IMPACT 105 P panel saw, with rear loading platform. Panels are increasingly large and heavy, so SCM wanted to enhance the range with this device, already featured on SIGMA PLUS range industrial panel saws. The advantage is that the panels can be loaded at the rear using a fork-lift truck, without stopping the machine: their handling is managed by the electronic control, saving a great deal of time.
This machine again maintains the excellent quality/price ratio which made the SIGMA IMPACT 105 C model so successful.
CASE STUDY: PRESS-SYS KFT. (HUNGARY)
PRESS-SYS KFT. is a family-run Hungarian company which makes and sells quality veneered panels. Established in 1989, this company wisely took advantage of the technology on SIGMA IMPACT panel saws, that is to say, industrial solutions for small business expansion. Partly thanks to the performance of the SIGMA IMPACT 105, purchased in 2005, the company grew rapidly and constantly aimed for increased productivity without compromising on the quality of the cut for the panels it sells. Today, the Héczey brothers sell a wide range of panels directly in their 1000 square metre shop and offer their customers a cut-to-size and home delivery service.

SIGMA IMPACT C PANEL SIZING CENTRE
GENERAL FEATURES:
- base with tubular steel structure
- worktable in reinforced ribbed steel and bakelite coated
- rear part with tubular supports with wheels made of antiscratch
material and with a bakelite coated table (500 mm width) positioned on the
squaring fence side to facilitate crossways cutting of thin strips
- safety enclosures fixed to the machine
- steel saw blade carriage which includes:
* 1 motor for the main saw blade and 1 motor for scoring blade
* vertical saw blade raising on prismatic guideways and recirculating ball screw
* sliding on two cylindrical guides in hardened and ground steel (5 years
guarantee) protected by a special dust scraper
* sliding wheels in hardened and ground steel
* alignment and depth of the scoring balde with adjustment from the
outside of the base
* massbalancing to guarantee perfect cutting finish
* stroke against the squaring fence
- pressure beam with even pressure on entire cutting length equipped with
slots to elimnate the interference zone with the clamps; pneumatic
vertical adjustment with precision racks and pinions, pressure
adjustable from 2 to 4 bar
- double dust conveying system: one on the top applied directly to the
pressure beam to keep the working table clean and one on the bottom
applied to the saw carriage
- control panel located on the left side
- squaring fence located on the left side
- power-driven pusher for the entire machine stroke with movement by a
robust torsion bar.
Shaped steel beams on "H" support for pusher movement. Sliding takes place
on 2 racks using 2 precision pinions to guarantee that the pusher and the
cutting line are constantly parallel.
The pusher is driven by an inverter to allow a variable speed
positioning and quick return
- no. 6 clamps for panel clamping
Control System with PC and PLC Manager 100
HARDWARE:
office PC with the following configuration:
- 15" SVGA colour screen
MACHINE FUNCTIONS:
- automatic mode: execution of programs and/or lists of programs
- semiautomatic mode: execution of 4 different
measurements which can be set using the keyboard
- possibility of passing from automatic to
semiautomatic mode during program execution (for
several cuts) and returning to automatic mode
(continuing the program from the point at which it was interrupted)
- Multitasking, allows programming or use of all control functions even during machining
PROGRAMMING:
- 5 different cutting levels: precutting/X/Y/U/V
- graphic display of cutting diagrams programmed
- maximum number of lines per program: 100
- maximum number of lines per list: 100
