Scheppach hmc25 - Traditional hollow chisel mortising with the scheppach hmc 25.
There is no more compelling evidence of scheppach's listening ear to the needs of our customers than the introduction of the new hmc 25 mortising machine. Hollow chisel is not the preferred method of mortising by german woodworkers who prefer rounded ends to their mortise joints. But such was the demand for a hollow chisel mortiser from our world-wide customer base who wanted to compliment their workshop with a machine that carried the scheppach logo, that we have introduced this traditional hollow chisel mortising machine for these valued export customers.
The main headstock, table and vertical machine column are all made in solid cast iron resulting in a stable, vibration free mortising machine. Where necessary, all castings are precision machined on a dovetail slide principle for smooth controlled movement when operating. Adjustable guides ensure that any possible movement from years of constant use can be taken up so that the machine always remains as accurate as the day it is purchased. Powered by a 1 HP quiet running induction motor, the machine is capable of mortising up to 25 mm (1 inch) in soft woods and 20 mm (3/4 inch) in hard wood. 200 mm (8 inch) capacity is possible under the chisel. A steel cabinet floor stand which serves as a storage cabinet for tooling comes as standard.
